3:00 Adam Curry: Well, how would you came Tina Curry: back to chaos. So okay, so I'm like, I'm looking at I'm looking at all the walls and like, oh, wow, it looks great. I go What about the baseboards? The Adam Curry: base? Hold on a second. So this started was it the day before you left on Tuesday? Well, Tina Curry: they were supposed to start like the Wednesday before but they actually started on Tuesday. Right and I left on Wednesday. Yes. Adam Curry: And so you know it's it's okay. Because you know, I have to manage the dog which turned out to be actually quite easy. But you know, I got a I had no home. No, I had basically the studio studio and Phoebe had no carpet to lay on she is like huge just roaming around like where am I gonna sit just like laws that we were both lost with the couch with the TV was cordoned off. We couldn't watch any TV and you weren't any TV and you're you're bouncing around Manhattan you're good morning. I love you and then you know that's it. And then somewhere and then it'd be like in the afternoon Hey, you know remember to tell Mike this or do that. You did not Oh no, I don't have a great time. Hope.

4:25 Tina Curry: So okay, so getting back so I write I come back home on Saturday, and I'm looking at the painting. I'm like, this looks bad. It looks really good. Adam Curry: Guys. Can I just say sure. I pressured them Saturday. Come on, come on. Come on. Let's get let's get because they had everything was covered with plastic scaffolding to the ceiling. Yeah. I said, Can we get all this out? Say yeah, we can get the scaffolding out. At least everything will be will be uncovered and and I would say you came home and oh. Oh wait, was dinner's ready for you? Yes. How was it all just beautifully arranged? Yes. Okay, if you forgot that part. I Tina Curry: will note though, because I figured I actually thought Adam Curry: about getting the flowers but I thought they'll probably wilt from the few the few yes Tina Curry: no, no I really appreciate it wasn't my fault that they started five days late. It was Mike's fault so Adam Curry: that's not my beef. I would Tina Curry: have been I would have been here most of the time to manage the project is yes CGMS Yes. Did you see it? And so you left that to me and then the baseboards weren't done and then all sudden I'm a princess window let's that's exactly how it went Tina Curry: back up skirt skirt backup. So so I'm looking at the baseboard and I'm like, the baseboards aren't done like, and I didn't have the conversation with them. I made the ice assumed which was wrong, that they were going to do the baseboards. So you texted Mike like she wants the baseboards done. And then he texts the other guy, Aaron. And they're like, Oh, this is going to add a lot of time to do all the

5:58 baseboards. And they have other jobs lined up. So I said, You know what? You get me the paint out. I'll do the baseboards. I'll do I'll do as many as I possibly can. And so I'm in I'm on my hands and knees painting the baseboards. And you come up to me and you're like, Wow, that is so not my wheelhouse where you said Adam Curry: we know this. We know that if you gave me a brush and paint and said here's a baseboard, how would that turn out? Tina Curry: And you're like, oh, yeah, I'll just pay somebody to do it like, Huh? And I said, this is the Indiana me like it's gotta get done. I want to get my house back. Totally. I'm gonna do it. And then I turn around. I said, You're just a princess.

And I ever heard different from the kids. Okay, I Tina Curry: adore her roommate, Mackenzie. I adore her. She's our fourth daughter. She is our fourth. I adore her. And it was really nice to spend some time and be around her. So I arrived and Elise was home by herself. And so I got to spend a little bit of time together with just the lead on Adam Curry: this was in Brooklyn. I remember I've never seen William partment what floor are they? Aren't they? They're Tina Curry: on the first floor. So you ground floor first floor.

Tina Curry: And they don't have any a window in their living room. That's what they said sometimes. They have no idea like the whole people. Elise has a window The kitchen has. The Mackenzies bedroom has a window. But anyway, so it was nice to be able to spend some time with just Elise when I got there. And then Mackenzie came home and then I took them all out to dinner at all to dinner, which was really, really nice to go would you eat? I don't remember the name of this place. I think it was Brooklyn. Yeah. And we walked there. We walked everywhere.

12:30 Adam Curry: And we took the subway everywhere and felt safe and broke. I did not Tina Curry: feel threatened or unsafe at all. And I mean, at least and I we we took that Subway everywhere. But so yeah, so we went to the restaurant and we were having dinner and the waiter Mickey Mackenzie ordered a glass of wine. And then Elise said, Oh, you can I'll just have a second glass too. And she still had a little bit of glass of wine in her glass. And so you know, he poured it. He poured McKenzie up for a glass and then he poured at least and you put it right at the same level. And I go, Wait a minute. She had more wine in her class. I think she deserves more wine. He got kind of he could kind of he did not like me. It was not like Adam Curry: it was a joke.

13:14 Tina Curry: No, I was serious. Like you. She says a little bit of wine, your glass. It shouldn't be the same amount. And he he said to me, he goes well, she should have drank the rest of her wine. They said to me and I was like, whoa. Anyway, it ended up being fine and good tip but I was like Oh really? Adam Curry: And you gave him a McCain salted you and he didn't admit he didn't Tina Curry: really inside? Maybe he thought I insulted him anyway. So we're on our way back. We're walking back how leaky bucket have you I know. It was right. He was chipping her on her wine. That's what I thought. Adam Curry: You know, that's politically incorrect. Oh, why? Because it comes from gypsy and yeah. Oh, I never knew that. You can say just here. For the romance level. Yeah, Tina Curry: it was a pat elonis Unknown: Sounds like so as we Tina Curry: were walking back. Oh, yeah. We saw a rat, big ol rat. Like, and even Lisa Mackenzie were like, ooh, which I was How big was it? Oh, it was. It was like the size of a small cat. overshare Pizza Rat. And I was surprised that you know, they kind of like cringed big rat. And I thought well, because you figure that New Yorkers are like they're used to it. They're around all the time. But Adam Curry: when I was in New York in the in the late 80s There were a lot of rats, then yeah, it's always an uncomfortable thing, because it's just nasty. Yeah.

14:37 Tina Curry: Um, but it was great. I mean, I I really prayed for a good a great visit and it ended up being a great visit. The one thing though, Adam, you could smell weed everywhere. Adam Curry: Every where it does, whatever you remember, went to Vegas and you smelled weed everywhere. It was more weed smell in New York and and other places in America than Amsterdam. Tina Curry: It's Raizy I mean, it's legalized it. Yeah, it's everywhere. And there's weed shops everywhere and you buy psilocybin everywhere you go Adam Curry: to Times Square at all. We did this. It just smells like weed everywhere. A bunch of pot heads. Yeah. Tina Curry: I mean, it's this kind of sad. Well, I mean, Adam Curry: garbage and poop and now it's weed. I mean, come on.

15:21 Where's my New York smells, people. That's interesting. Yeah, Tina Curry: it was crazy. But we did a lot of shopping. Got her ready for her new job that she started and so on. Thursday, we ended up going to see Sweeney Todd, which is the the you know that story, the butcher or the barber? Adam Curry: I've never read it. I've never seen it. So I remember cuz Tina Curry: Johnny Depp had done a movie a while ago. And oh, yeah, the barber that would he slit their throats and then he'd he put his chair back and they'd go down a chute, and they go down into this cellar. And the woman, this woman, his neighbor would make pies out of the body. So Adam Curry: this is a feel good play.

16:04 Tina Curry: It was actually kind of funny if there was some parts. It was we had a great, great, you know, we had great seats. Well, of Adam Curry: course, you did the Adam curry version. If you gotta go to the theater, you might get Tina Curry: to see the actor so. So at the end, so Sweeney Todd, he, he gets killed at the end. So they you know, they do they slit his throat and they have the big blood that comes down. And at the end, after they introduce everybody, he comes out and he says I'm auctioning off this t shirt, this bloody tanktop t shirt, supports it supports some nonprofit that supports the Broadway theater. And so Broadway so they start off at 500. Then the woman next to Elise goes 1000 Then back the Oh 1500. Then the woman next to least goes 2000 And she ended up getting the t shirt. She got to go backstage to meet the actors.

17:00 Yes. Oh, I said to at least I go if Adam was there, he probably would have been on it. Adam Curry: Where did you get that idea from? Tina Curry: We could all go back and meet the lead all the actors you Adam Curry: apparently think I'm made of money. I'm printing in here while you're gone. Like I used Unknown: to go. You view it would be Adam Curry: I didn't say I am a sucker for a good auction. Yeah, a nonprofit auction. Tina Curry: something interesting happened. A little bit of trauma came up for me. So as we were walking to the play, I rolled my ankle and I fell again, just like I fell in Utah.

17:43 And so like you fell with Elise in Austin when I was yes, this was a while I actually tripped over something that was in the right. Yeah, was buckled and I tripped over it. But so all of a sudden, we're just we crossed the street and all of a sudden my ankle rolled. And it was so crazy because I started propelling forward and I grabbed her arm and she thought somebody else was grabbing her arm. So she pulled away. And I could not stop myself. And in that moment, as I was going forward, I thought about Utah. I thought about how I went forward. Like it was slow motion in my head. And I ended up falling on my left side and I hit my head on the pavement. What? Yeah, I hit my head on the pavement. You have no bruises. I have a bruise on my hip. My hip got the first thing Adam Curry: where people immediately like, Oh, we're helping you to get Tina Curry: us. Yes. And this woman came up she gave me some hand sanitizer because I My hands were on the ground. And Elise was like, Oh my gosh, oh my gosh, I'm so Are you okay, are you okay? It was so the trauma of Utah just like the trauma of the plane. Yeah, like experienced that all over again.

18:51 Adam Curry: Oh, no, not only can you not fly with me anymore. You can't walk with New York. We're gonna do we're just gonna sit here and watch cheer. I Tina Curry: just rolled my ankle. Good. I rolled a good you texted Adam Curry: me. It's like go I did fall, but everything's good. And yeah, I Tina Curry: didn't want you to worry. I was fine. I didn't. I had no I didn't need any medical attention. But I brought it I'm bringing it up because it was trauma. The Trump like it was the other Unknown: stuff in motion Utah Tina Curry: again. Yes. Yeah. Adam Curry: And when are you going on one of these hiking trips October Tina Curry: I've forgotten the Smoky Mountain but I'm okay. I'm okay. So yes, we had a great we had a great time at the theater and then theater theater Broadway and then Friday.

And then it lets out and then you're supposed to have a late super supper. Now Tina Curry: we will McKenzie had to work the next day and Elise and I Elisa is tired. I was tired. Adam Curry: Lee said she'd taken off those days. So she Oh, cool. Tina Curry: Yeah, she had Yes. And so then Friday, we went to Dumbo and I forget what that stands for. Dumbo du MB o something under the Manhattan Bridge. Something. It's no it's the area. It's called that. And yeah, look it up I forget what something under the Manhattan Bridge. And so we went there and we walked around. We had a couple spa appointments. We did more shopping and it was just mother daughter bonding Dumbo Adam Curry: Brooklyn. Yes. Down Under the Manhattan Bridge.

20:26 Overpass. Yeah. Tina Curry: There you go. So I have a picture Adam Curry: neighborhood, Tina Curry: at least took me to the SEC. She's like your mom take the picture because she has to watch this when you've got Adam Curry: a native New Yorker. Oh, she knew everything. Yeah, that is wonderful. Tina Curry: Yeah. And then you talk Adam Curry: mom daughter stuff. Tina Curry: And then at night, that night, not that night, we went to pasties, which is where she was working work. And this is, yeah, she and she loves she loves all her coworkers. And what was really cool for me was how much people were so happy to see her, you know, like they love when we were sitting. A person was sitting at the table and Adam Curry: she said she need deserves more wine. No, no.

21:13 Tina Curry: So before we got there, she's like, Oh, they're gonna they'll set us up. They'll, you know, they'll bring us champagne. And so we're sitting, we're sitting at the table and we're sitting there and we order our drinks. I turned her I go, I don't think we're gonna get any champagne. And she goes, Are you doubting me? Just comes the guy with the we had we had a really lovely dinner and it was just, I just enjoyed myself so much with her. I just loved it. I loved it. And so this is gonna make me cry. So I got up early on Saturday. Adam Curry: Can I Yeah, me just saying. I mean, like all mother daughter relationships. It's been some it's been a tough sometimes. I've had her we've had our head your rose? Yeah, yeah. You're what? A rose a rose. Okay.

21:59 Tina Curry: Yeah. And so, I mean, our relationship now is really very, very solid. I just love her dearly. But so as I was leaving it for me, I wanted to just be present to the whole visit. And I love that she's so happy. You know, because when your kids are happy, but um Oh, before I get before I tell the story. So they're at the restaurant. I ordered decaf coffee and they ended up giving me caffeinated coffee, so I couldn't sleep. I know Adam Curry: you. Next morning. You're like, I didn't sleep until to the caffeinated coffee. Tina Curry: Elise's bedroom window is right by the street. So these dudes are out there just talking at two o'clock in the morning. Their city life. Yeah. So. But anyway, other than that, you know, everything else was perfect. But as I was leaving the next morning, and I got a I got an Uber and the airport. Yes. And so I hugged Elise and I hugged Mackenzie and I was getting into the cab. And I turned around in there was Alicia sitting there watch standing there watching me and to me, barely. That was such a gesture of love, you know and good considering our journey and our path. To me that like that meant so much to me that she was just standing there watching me as I was, as I was leaving. So to me that just like cemented this amazing trip that I had with her that I just love that she's so happy. I love that she loves her friends and her

23:29 community and I love that she loves me so much just as much as I love her. So it was it was it was a fantastic, fantastic trip. So I loved it. Hey, when Adam Curry: can I go visit Elisa Mackenzie sounds like a good time. I would love to go hang out with them because her Tina Curry: friend Carol's boyfriend who's archiving something digital magazines or something he wants to meet you so we're gonna have to the whole Adam Curry: point of if there's any benefit to being MTV guy, podcast, man. Yes. It's so the kids can show you off. Yes, of course. I'd love to go but first I gotta go see my daughter. I Tina Curry: know and you are going in June. Yes. I get to the airport. I get to LaGuardia. That's beautiful, Adam Curry: by the way, but I loved every single time you're still Tina Curry: crying. That the story today too. I was hanging out with her. And I'm like, every time I tell the story, I cry. Yeah, Unknown: it's meaningful. But I was so I get I get to Tina Curry: the LaGuardia. LaGuardia is a really nice oh, I really improved it.

24:31 Adam Curry: It was I think during COVID They even they did all the remodeling. They shut it down and did really, really, Tina Curry: really, really beautiful to be pretty. So of course, you know the ending this great trip I get to LaGuardia, the TSA guy tells me I cannot take I did not He didn't tell me to take my iPad out. You know, every airport is different. Yep. So I left it in my bag. flagged it, you know and like the guy's taking his time and I'm doing a slow burn and I'm the He's old these older women next to me were like their bags we're working from behind you and here's me. This is all theater. Adam Curry: Well done, darling. Did they detain you? Because that's usually what happens.

25:14 Tina Curry: finally gets to my bag. It's like I gotta put it through I go, he never told me to take the iPad out. I go, can I have my handbag? At least No. Nope. So it took forever and so I got frustrated and then to try to find a cup of decaf coffee in an airport. Forget it. Is Adam Curry: that valuable anymore? I couldn't find it. All you got is sugar and caffeine. That's all there is. No, I couldn't Tina Curry: find it. So I was I was tired because I didn't sleep. And I felt like I was rude. Like, I waited in this line for coffee and I pulled out cash the woman's like now cash. I go, Okay, can I have a decaf? No decaf. I go, you should have a sign up because I've been 10 minutes. So I find her with that lady, huh? I was so you know what I did? I sat in the airport and I prayed. I repented and I prayed. And I remember that they are God's all the all God's children, Adam Curry: including the TSA agents. Yes, Tina Curry: yes. Yes. Yeah. When I asked for forgiveness, because I was not a happy person. So I had this fantastic trip. Great, great ride to the airport. No problem. No going. Everything Adam Curry: good. And then a little bit of a bummer at the airport. Yeah, I understand. That was my recap. And then you still and then you but I prayed for you. You had travel favorites all the way through. It was yes, everything was perfect. And then you still had to drive an hour and a half home, which that was okay. Yeah. You didn't mind that? No, because I was actually thinking like, man, you want to have someone pick you I listen Tina Curry: to living up in a down world. Yeah, I listen to podcasts. And it's like, Adam Curry: what a great invention.

And then Phoebe and I basically I just sat at the in the kitchen and had steak. And then the next night had steak. And then the next night has the end then the last night Friday night? Because you know, no one invited me to any dinner. Your own no and we had no TV no friends just make no friends and just mean Phoebe and Phoebe's look at me like, dude, this blows Yeah, this is no good. She was just looking at me. I said, Come on. Let's go. Let's get in the car. Now this is your reprieved? Yes. She loves that like getting the car.

27:30 I was jonesing for a burger. So we drive to Waterberg and she's got her head hanging out. And you know, it's about 10 minutes to get there. And there's 15 minutes and everyone was like, oh, tonight is water burger night. And she loved it. And she just did you buy her a burger. No, no, no. Yeah. Gave her a little piece of my steak the night before. Oh, you did a little bit. Hey, Mom's not here. Don't tell her. I gave her this. Okay. She's like, what is happening here? Unknown: Good. Well, Adam Curry: she's been she's slimmed down so much. I figured she'd have a little bit of steak. Yeah. And then, and this was when you came home Saturday. Yeah. And then of course, went to bed early after I made dinner for you. Yes, you did. Thank you went to bed early because he had Sunday. I was tired. Because I get up at 530 on Sunday. Yeah. Went to church. And we still the house is still in disarray. Now, it would have been almost done today. Except, you know, one half of the dynamic duo Aaron here. I'm telling he was in our bedroom. On Friday. No.

Anyways, I just want to reach out and tell you, the curry in the keeper has been beautiful, which is better than lovely. He says, anchor for me and my wife. She has refused to listen to any of those silly podcasts until I played an episode on a trek from Houston to Amarillo. And now she's receiving the Holy Spirit through both of you listening to your banter and problem resolution as a married couple with a Jesus first methodology is truly like a spiritual sucker punch, knowing how I am falling short and treasuring my wife to me that I'm sure you're fine brother. To me, that is not a bad thing because the Lord is directing me to make changes to bring me closer to Him through your openness and honesty. I've been married to the most perfect woman for me that has ever crossed my path for over 37 years and have yet to resolve conflict like both you do on the show. Wind helps. And it's really it's just starting the day off Tina Curry: with that. And we end it with that we end it with us, right Adam Curry: every night. I'll read Scripture, we usually stay awake. Yeah, we begin the day with Scripture and we end the day with and Tina Curry: that's the thing is get in his word. Yeah, get in his word every Adam Curry: single day. There's something it gets me started right man. Like, you, Tina Curry: you start, you start seeing them feeling and witnessing the transformation just like me going into LaGuardia and saying, Okay, I am I'm I am so frustrated here. I realized that I was not nice to that woman. I gotta sit down. I just gotta pray and I gotta repent, repent and just ask for forgiveness and ask for a peace and comfort and calmness. And I would have never done that before. I know you Adam Curry: would have been steaming and texting me, man.

So basically, what that means is when we model Christ's sacrificial love and compassion in our, in all of our relationships, we are illustrating that we have been transformed by God's love. I mean, the way that we approach kindness and patience and support, I mean, we are modeling guy so I certainly try Yes. And so I you know, when I think about that, I in Greg's email confirm this. I see this in our marriage first and foremost. I see it in our marriage. And I it's so it's has been strengthened so much. And I thought we had a really strong marriage, you know?

It'd be nice. You bring flowers. And I showed up at the front door, the door opens and I say oh, hi.

And I remember going to the bathroom. And I just took it off because I couldn't stand it. And I put it in my pocket. And we were out and recess and we were jumping. We're jumping rope, you know? So I was jumping rope in the offices here. And everybody's pointing on the playground. And there's my bra. Unknown: Oh, my. Adam Curry: I mean, here's the most embarrassing moment in your life. There's another one all childhood trauma. You see Tina Curry: this? This next one was when I when I was 18. I got a job working in downtown Chicago and at an advertising agency. And I was I was in the copy department.
